MEET THE GLOVERS
On May 23, 2021, FBC Troup extended the call to Dr. Aaron Glover to become our new Senior Pastor! His wife, Emily, is currently leading our Sunday morning worship music. The Glovers love to serve the local church and are excited about their new chapter at FBC Troup!
Aaron has a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving in the local church. In 2020, he completed a Doctorate in Educational Ministry Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. Aaron is a lifelong learner who relishes a good book-- mostly theology, history, and some fiction. In addition to his love for learning, he also enjoys playing guitar, writing, creating, and working out.
Aaron grew up in the church and became a believer at the age of 7. In 2010, he felt called into ministry and began pursuing a Master's degree at Dallas Baptist University. Since then, Aaron has served in almost every role in a local church: teaching Bible classes, serving on leadership teams, being a deacon, playing on worship teams, leading workplace Bible studies, speaking at community events, and much more! Aaron has also traveled across the nation speaking and sharing the Gospel as a member of the evangelistic group “the Power Team” — a group that performs feats of strength to capture the attention of people and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to change their lives.
Alongside his ministry service and academic studies, Aaron’s professional background includes over 15 years of digital design and consulting for a myriad of clients and industries including churches, athletes, musicians, investors, engineers, entertainers, and many others.
Aaron's mission is to call dead people to life in Christ Jesus and to serve them as they live and grow in Him.
Emily has been leading worship since the age of 15. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Emily moved to Texas to attend Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) after high school. It was there that her passion for music and singing grew into a career. Emily graduated from CFNI in 2006 with an Associates Degree in Practical Theology.
Emily has been featured on multiple worship albums and is currently working on a solo project. She also served as a lead vocalist for Ron Kenoly’s 2008 European Christmas Tour playing the role of “Mary”. Before coming to FBC Troup, Emily was the contemporary worship leader at Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler, and a preschool music teacher. Emily's professional background also includes CFNI and multiple churches.
Emily’s passion is to see people’s lives transformed by the love of Jesus and she writes music that is true to her heart.
Aaron and Emily have three beautiful children: Mia, Carter, and Luna.
